It is a deep and painful irony that people in South Africa are both victims and perpetrators of hate crimes.”

We have witnessed an ever increasing reported and unreported cases of hate crimes against LGBTI persons in South Africa. Despite the South African Constitution that protects all, many LGBTI people still experience all forms of discrimination, secondary victimization, rape, hate speech and even murder.

For more information about and what is hate crime read our hate crime booklet “Stop Hate Crime targeting LGBTI people!”

To report hate crimes contact Tracey Sibisi at 033- 342 6165 or advocacy@gaylesbian.org.za
